On May 14–17, 2023, at the invitation of Association of MBAs & Business Graduates (AMBA&BGA), Yang Zhi, Dean of the School of Management, attended the 2023 AMBA&BGA Global Annual Conference in Seville, Spain. The topics of this conference included new technology ChatGPT, sustainability and climate change, market best practices, and other latest topics closely related to the development of business schools. Representatives from various industries shared profound insights and practical experiences.
During the conference, Dean Yang introduced the School of Management to the AMBA&BGA alliance schools. He stated that "merging" could best describe the School—the merging of management and scientific technology, academics and practice, teaching and research, and Eastern and Western cultures. Dean Yang also had in-depth meetings with the deans of European Business Schools and reached an agreement with Professor Zhongming Wang, the General Manager of AMBA&BGA China, to further promote the alliance of technology-oriented business schools.
During the conference, AMBA organized a certification ceremony for accredited business schools, and Dean Yang received the re-accreditation certificate on behalf of the School. This is the second time the school received the re-accreditation with a maximum period of 5 years, following the initial AMBA accreditation in 2012. This can fully reflect the internationally first-class level of of the School in terms of MBA and EMBA programs.
More than 400 representatives from worldwide business schools attended the conference. In addition to the School of Management of Huazhong University of Science and Technology, representatives from a number of Chinese management schools also participated in the conference. They include but not limited to Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Tianjin University, Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, Chongqing University, Xiamen University, Central South University, Hunan University, etc.
