MPAcc Program
Program Introduction: The Master of Professional Accounting (MPAcc) program is dedicated to cultivating high-level compound accounting professionals and financial leaders with a global perspective, strategic acumen, expertise in accounting and finance, the ability to integrate accounting information with new digital technologies, a strong sense of social responsibility, and professional ethics. After years of development, the MPAcc program at Huazhong University of Science and Technology has established distinctive characteristics of "Internationalization," "Practicality," and "Digital Intelligence," and has innovated a new model for talent development that integrates business acumen with financial expertise.
Program Objectives: To establish a high-level talent pool for accounting professionals and a platform for gathering high-level accounting talents, and to become a top MPAcc education program in China.

l International Integration: The MPAcc program has established an international cooperation platform involving "College + Students + International Accounting Organizations + Overseas Renowned Universities + Enterprises," collaborating with internationally renowned universities in the UK, USA, France, Australia, etc., to jointly train double degree graduates. The MPAcc curriculum system has been accredited by authoritative international accounting organizations such as ACCA, CPA-Australia, and IMA, providing students with a platform to expand their global perspectives, participate in international exchanges, and further their studies.
l Enhancing Student Practical Skills: The MPAcc program boasts a group of renowned professors in accounting, finance, and auditing with prestigious reputations both domestically and internationally, as well as rich practical experience. The program has received national first-class courses and the national "Baogang" Outstanding Teacher Award, published in over a hundred SCI and SSCI indexed papers. The program has established a practical cooperation platform involving "college + students + corporate mentors + internship bases + employers," hiring multiple overseas visiting professors and industry experts as corporate mentors. The "dual mentor" model permeates the entire process of MPAcc training, and original teaching cases have won national awards multiple times. The program has been approved as a national demonstration joint training practice base for MPAcc and has established three graduate workstations in Hubei Province, comprehensively enhancing students' practical skills.
MPAcc Curriculum
The MPAcc program offers directions in Big Data and Business Analytics, Accounting, Auditing, ACCA, Corporate Finance, Taxation, and Supply Chain Finance. The teaching content integrates the latest theories and methods in accounting, finance, and auditing, emphasizing a balance between theory and practice. The program has constructed a curriculum system that combines specialized in-depth modules, new economy and new technology modules, knowledge integration and action learning modules, and international operations modules. Various teaching methods, such as classroom teaching and discussions, simulation training and case analysis, corporate visits, and mobile classrooms, are employed, integrating real-world business examples for scenario-based teaching to inspire students to explore theoretical and practical issues enthusiastically.
MPAcc Student Profile: By 2023, the MPAcc program has 319 students, with 122 full-time students and 197 part-time students. There are 237 female students and 82 male students, with a male-to-female ratio of 1:2.89. The average age of part-time students is 28 years old, with an average of 6 years of work experience. The distribution of student sources by industry is as follows: 28% in government and public institutions, 25% in financial institutions such as banks, securities firms, and accounting firms, 26% in state-owned large and medium-sized enterprises, and 21% in other industries. Students have won numerous awards, including gold and silver awards in national and provincial innovation and entrepreneurship competitions, etc.
