From November 15th to 17th, the AMBA& BGA Asia Pacific Conference 2023 for Deans and Directors was held in Bangkok, Thailand. Yang Zhi, Dean of the School of Management, was invited to deliver a speech as a guest of the sub-forum of the conference and participated in the award ceremony for the 10-Year AMBA Accreditation.
During the sub-forum “Capacity Building Session: Developing Effective Business School Leadership," held on November 16, Dean Yang shared the School’s experience of practice and exploration in talent cultivation and highlighted crucial factors for business schools in fostering leadership. He emphasized that business schools need to focus on comprehensive skill development, particularly in leadership, and actively carry out practical teaching and school-enterprise cooperation to provide students with more practical opportunities and experience.
Dean Yang further discussed with other delegates about the new skills and capacities that business school leaders should acquire, along with strategies for fostering responsible management and sustainable pedagogical research and practice, providing the latest insights and best practices for leadership development in business schools.
On November 17th, Dean Yang participated in the award ceremony for the 10-Year AMBA Accreditation and received the Certificate on behalf of the School.
The School of Management was first accredited by AMBA in 2012 and then re-accredited in 2015 and 2020 with a maximum accreditation period of 5 years. In addition, the School was nominated for the Best Lifelong Learning Initiative Award at the 2021/22 Global Business School Excellence Award; the MBA students were awarded the Bronze Prize for MBA Student of the Year; the MBA alumni was honored with the Gold Prize for MBA Entrepreneur of the Year at the 2022/23 Global Business School Excellence Award. Over the past decade, the School has been highly recognized by AMBA&BGA for its excellence and continuous efforts in business education. The recognition of over 10 years of AMBA accreditation is a milestone for the School on its path towards the vision of building a domestically first-class and internationally renowned management school. The School will take this opportunity to continue contributing to the reform and development of business education.
