AMBA Re-accreditation Conference of SOM, HUST was successfully held online

From December 8thto 10th, AMBA Re-accreditation Conference of SOM, HUST was held online. The AMBA panel members are: Andrew Lock, panel chair of AMBA&BGA International Accreditation Consulting Committee; Wang Chongming, international consultant of AMBA and director of Global Entrepreneurship Research Center of Zhejiang University; Stephanie Villemagne, associate dean MiM and MiF, IE Business School, IE University of Spain and George Iliev, director of Strategic Projects & Innovation, Accreditation & China Director.

On the afternoon of December 8th, meeting with the University President & SOM Leadership Team was held in office 411. Xu Xiaodong, the vice president of HUST, addressed a welcome speech and expressed his recognition of AMBA value to the panel, then he gave a brief introduction of HUST. In the Q&A session, Andrew Lock thoroughly affirmed the development of SOM and the MBA and EMBA programs. The vice president and the School leadership team answer the questions about achievements of double-first class developments of HUST and SOM under the global epidemic background.



On the afternoon of December 9th, the School leader team and directors of MBA and EMBA programs attended the conference. Dean Wang Zongjun report the School’s overall development since the last accreditation to the panel. In the Q&A session, the participants communicated on school-level issues and MBA and EMBA Programs issues including strategic planning, scientific research, faculty development, marketing, case study etc. They also discussed about cross-integration of emerging engineering and business since HUST is a university with obvious advantages in engineering.



On the afternoon of December 10th, the dean and the leadership team received the accreditaion feedbacks from the AMBA panel. The Panel Chair Andrew Lock expressed his congratulations on the progresses the School had achieved in the past five years. Meanwhile the school received recommendations on school strategy, discipline positioning, faculty development, MBA and EMBA curriculum improvement. Finally, Dean Wang Zongjun addressed a thank you speech for the AMBA panel.
