In order to implement the university's 2030 internationalization strategy, expand the channels for international students to come to China and enhance their international influence, Yanhua Hu, secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Management, Yan Wei, director of the Office of Admission and External Cooperation of the School of International Education, and Antai Li, director of the Office of International Affairs of the School of Management, went to Switzerland, France and Italy to promote “Studying Abroad at HUST” enrollment, visited the University of Geneva, the Toulouse INP and the University of Pisa in Italy, and participated in EAIE in Toulouse from September 14 to 23.
School of Economics and Management, University of Geneva
On September 16, Yanhua Hu and her delegation visited the School of Economics and Management of the University of Geneva and the Geneva Institute for Financial Studies and met with Professor Harald Hau. The two sides reviewed past cooperation, including Professor Harald's academic lectures in 2019 and online communication to discuss dual-degree programs and master's enrollment in 2021. The meeting aimed to implement the dual-degree cooperation system, explore new modes of international talent cultivation, and intend to cooperate on 1+1+1 programs at the master's level. Yanhua Hu and her team also held talks with representatives of doctoral students to publicize the talent recruitment policy of the college and welcome outstanding doctoral students to join the School of Management.
Toulouse INP
On September 17, Yanhua Hu and her delegation visited Toulouse INP, where Hu met with alumnus Prof. Junwu Tao and other university representatives. Both sides introduced the internationalization development of the university and the summer school program, and encouraged the students of the university to apply for scholarships to study at HUST. Yan Wei gave a speech on the topic of “Studying Abroad at HUST”, while Antai Li highlighted the summer program of the School. Toulouse INP highly appreciated the internationalization of the university and was willing to promote the study programs of the university.
European Association for International Education in Toulouse, France
At the European Association for International Education (EAIE) held from September 17 to 19, Yanhua Hu and her delegation had exchanges with many world top universities, including the University of Cambridge and the University of Sydney, to expand new international partnerships. Previously, the two sides further deepened their exchange relationship through the renewal of school-level exchange and cooperation agreements and the selection of outstanding students to participate in exchange programs. In addition, Yanhua Hu and her delegation renewed the exchange program with Technical University of Munich, and finalized the MBA/MPACC1+1 program with IESEG School of Management, which further promoted the cooperation between our institute and foreign universities.
University of Pisa, Italy
On September 20, Yanhua Hu and her delegation visited the University of Pisa, Italy, and had a discussion with Prof. Gronchi, Vice President, and Arianna Biancani, representative of the International Affairs Office, to discuss the signing of the Memorandum of Cooperation and the development of the exchange program for undergraduate and master's degree students.
The trip lasted 10 days, visiting 3 European countries and 3 universities. During the EAIE held in Toulouse, talks were held with 18 colleges and universities. This is not only an important initiative to implement the school's Global Development Strategy 2030, but also an initiative of the college to actively seek internationalization development, promote high-level cooperation programs, and is of great significance to the school's international student enrollment and internationalization development.
