HUST School of Management Achieves EQUIS Accreditation Securing the Triple Crown Business School

Jun 3, 2025

The School of Management at Huazhong University of Science and Technology(HUST) has been awarded EQUIS accreditation for a period of five years by the European Foundation for Management Development(EFMD), as officially confirmed on 26 May. With this milestone, the School has now attained three international business accreditation - EQUIS, AACSB and AMBA - placing it among a select group of "TRIPLE-ACCREDITED" business schools, a testament to its commitment to excellence and global recognition.

The EQUIS Accreditation Board commended the School for its “thought leadership both for academics and practitioners”, highlighting its innovative and impactful research outputs and for the integration of management with science and technology disciplines. The Board recognized the dedication of all faculty and staff, noting that the Schools development model offers valuable insights for global management education. Thomas Froehlicher, the Schools EQUIS advisor, remarked that achieving a 5-year accreditation period is extremely rare in initial EQUIS accreditation, demonstrating the Schools standing as a leading business school worldwide.

EQUIS, renowned for its rigorous standards and criteria, is one of the most prestigious business accreditation. The School commenced its EQUIS accreditation journey in 2021, obtained eligibility for accreditation in March 2023, and hosted an on-site peer review visit in October 2024. Following a thorough assessment of ten areas, including governance and strategy, programmes, students, faculty, research and development, executive education, resources and administration, internationalization, ethics responsibility and sustainability, and connections with practice, the School was granted the highest validity period of five years.

Building on this momentum, the School will continue to intensify its interdisciplinary initiatives, forge strong industry-academia collaboration and extend its global partnerships. Moving forward, the School will leverage international accreditation for continuous quality improvement in management education and practice its commitment in cultivating future leaders with both technological proficiency and innovative vision.
