Elsevier's 2024 Highly Cited Chinese Researchers List utilizes Scopus, the world's authoritative citation and indexing database, as the statistical source for Chinese scholars' research achievements. The methodology, developed by Shanghai Rank Consultancy, has garnered significant attention from both domestic and international media and academia.
The 2024 list features a total of 6,388 scholars from 547 universities, enterprises, and research institutions, spanning 83 first-level disciplines across 10 major academic fields defined by China's Ministry of Education. Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST) has 23 scholars named to the 2024 list, with a quarter of these honorees coming from the School of Management.
